So I got a new battery this past month and it has been firing right up. Today it struggled and would just click and then after trying again and again I got it to crank but after I put it up I wanted to see if the problem was still there and now it just clicks and can’t get it to start at all, I tightened the negative and positive on the battery and still just clicks, could there be something draining the battery? Or the start solenoid? I don’t think it could be the starter because it’s been firing right up great and I feel if it would I would’ve seen it failing long ago.

All I have I’m pretty sure is the winch, but I don’t have winch connected to the positive and negative because the one I had on it broke. It could be the starter solenoid because I replaced my old one thinking that was the issue and it was the battery, I might put the old one back on and try it out, cuz the new one I got was only like 10 dollars and it could’ve gave in fast.

Check the connections to the starter solenoid with a wrench. Mine was 1/4 turn from fully tight once and did the same thing. Just a faint click in the dash when pressing the start button until the connection was tightened. If that does not fix it, check the ground wire to the frame on the passenger side behind the battery. It is probably something simple. These things usually are very reliable. Good luck!

Without actually doing some testing, you're just throwing stuff against the wall to see if it sticks. First things first; check the voltage at the battery while at rest - should be somewhere around 12.4 volts. Then check again with the car running - should be at least 13.5+ volts.

I just finished tearing my machine apart for no start clicking. The brake pressure switch is shit on CanAms and the gearbox Park sensor only works 50% of the time. Moral of the story, if it only clicks, try stomping the brake pedal once or twice and holding it while starting. It won’t energize the starter when it thinks it’s in gear without the brakes on. (and that might be flaky too)

another good reason for a tuned car
all this nannie safety junk can be turned off
start in any gear, no brake needed

I always take a negative cable from my jumper cable set
And run from the negative battery post to the frame.
I have fixed a few vehicles with this trick.
Sometimes, I run two negative cables.
I had a Suzuki two stroke triple, that would cut out when it got hot.
The negative cable was half eaten away from leaking battery acid.
The second negative cable made it run.
