Hello hooligans!

I have an 2018 x3rs. It has the Evolution Powersports 3R tune and all the bits and bobs that go with it. Im using normal NZ fuel, octane 95. I was wondering can i use E85 gas (which is available at the service station just up the road). Will the car adjust to the E85 or do i need another map change? Will there be any performance gains? And what about down sides? I put this in my Audi RS4 and got a range of engine lights. So whats the deal? Anyone else burning E85? Any problems?

Unless you tuned and have the correct injectors the answer is no.

You should not put anything over 10 or 15 percent at the most in a vehicle not tuned specifically for E85.

EVO makes an E85 tune but it takes bigger injectors. Unfortunately i am pretty sure 3R isn’t one that can use that fuel.

NZ 95 ron fuel is a mid octane gas = to US 90 octane and is the minimum required by brp
But with the evo stage 3 tune you can bet it is well under what evo recommends using, you probably need NZ 98 octane
e85 is at least 100 US octane and close to 110 NZ ron octane
