Bump steer is toe change throughout travel, nothing more.

 

32 outback max on sti 17 inch rims. Of coarse they are 5+2 so no clearance issues. 1800km .. no belt issues, no clutching. Measures out at 17 inch clearance and 68 width . LOVE IT!!!!!!

So I looked up your tire spec. It shows 52lbs on the tire. You say no issues. Reading the forums a lot of people talk about tire weight being a serious issue to the belt and performance. Have you seen any decline in power or quickness? I am looking at an EFX steal belted radial in a 32 that is rated at about 46-48 lbs. The tire looks great! I am tempted to try it. I have not seen many steal belted radial tires for a UTV. Thanks

 

After using 30" and 31" tires, I wanted to try some 32's for the appropriate terrain. I went with the Arison Aftershock 32's. I have two sets of wheels in 4/3 and 5/2 offset. I put the 32's on my 4/3 set and will say it sucks. I got way too much steering feedback from this setup and the steering got much slower. Now this is in pretty rough rocky terrain so keep that in mind. I'll put the 32's on my 5/2 set next and hopefully that will be the winning setup. I'm temped to buy a 6/1 offset set as well which would put me back to stock. I haven't found the wider setup to be any better as this buggy is very stable already. The wide setup just seems to cause too much negative impact through the steering system/wheel.

I had some ITP Ultracross 31's on this 4/3 wheel and that was an ok setup but that ITP tire is very narrow as compared to other tires in the 10" wide typical sizing.

 

That is an awesome looking machine fstclyz. It looks fast just sitting there.

I've decided to go with 32 Tensor Regulators on my DS but I haven't made up my mind on what size (14 or 15-inch rims) yet. I'm not sure what offset I'd need to run and I'd prefer to avoid beadlocks because I have no use for them and would like to avoid the additional expense. I'd appreciate any comments/experiences from those that have done it. Thanks in advance!

 

I would stress 15" wheel I have ran them from the start on my xrs and not a single rock scratch on the inside of the wheel. I'm sure that the rockblokz help as well.

 

For racing and fun, I stayed with 14" rims on 30, 31 and 32" tires with great results. You could have the same issues with larger rocks using 15" rims or by taking off the OEM scrapers. Pick your poison, big rocks or small rocks.

 

So you running stock rims and 32 inch tires with out changing clutch or anything else correct

Yes, very possible, depending on the weight and "true" size of the tire. I recently put 32" Maxxis Libertys on mine...like GloverXRS. I noticed a slight power loss, but not enough for me to change the clutch. In fact, it'll spin those tires loose on payment very easily.

 

I just put some Tusk Terrabite 32" on my XDS Max. Haven't had chance to run them much yet, just a few runs down the highway, but the fit seems good. I plan on keeping stock clutching, does seem like slight power loss at takeoff thus far. Wheels are STI 14" beadlock 5+2

 

Heck I can spin n lay rubber with my heavy 32in outback max tires Granted thou I’d probably smile bigger with clutch kit

 

Ride is in the shop for it's 6000 km service. Getting new tires on at same time. Going to try the BFG KM2 33 x 10.5 x 15 this time. I am using the HD5 Beadlock and the shop is telling me they cannot get the BL on due to the extra width of the BFG's. There was no issue with the Chicane RX tires, but being as the BFG's are true truck tires they are thicker. Is the solution as simple as getting longer bolts to mount the BL?

 

I don't think it's that easy. I believe the ring is suppose to center over the wheel not just float over it. That's the bad thing with running truck tires on sxs wheels, the beads are a lot thicker.

 

Yes, you can mount the tire that way. Done it many times. Just a little longer bolt, just make sure it doesn't bottom out.

Thanks for the reply. Another member running same size tire but different brand said to use a few longer bolts to compress bead and then the original bolts should work. I will try that first and if that works all good. If I am not happy with that scenario I will just use a slightly longer bolt as suggested. One way or another they are going on. :smile:

 

At over 50 lbs per tire, I would never attempt to run a BFG KM2 33 x10.5 tires on an X3 or any SxS.

 

Have run the 33"s on multiple SXS's. Even 35"s. Sure, they are heavier, but for where we wheel they are much tougher and durable than a UTV tire. Especially when running 5-6 PSI.

Got them on. Used a bolt .25" longer on the BL ring. It didn't bottom out so I went all longer bolts. Just felt there would be more thread grabbed by each bolt.

 

Looks great. They look just right with that size tire. And they still work really well.

Hey you BFG 33/10.5/15 guys I just did this to my max, have any of you done clutching yet?

 

I have the EPI kit for 32" tires, stock tune. Engagement went up some but it pulls harder on takeoff and is very smooth. Very pleased with it.

Big T It looks like you have a stock wheel as a spare. Is there any issue with running a smaller tire for a spare with the drive line? Thanks

 

You guys do know that BFG makes a UTV specific tire. They have a new 32" tire that supposedly measures out to 33". Jagged X has been running them on their BITD car.

Yeah seen them BFG KR2, but they only have 30/9.5/15 but there's nothing better looking than a BFG KM2 got a set on two trucks, jK jeep and now X3 if they made them for my mountain bike I get them too.
