I like the looks of that tire

 

I will be putting the 32 x 10 x 15 Chicane RX's on my XRS in two weeks time. I have the STI HD5 Beadlocks on with them. Tire and wheel come in at 61 lbs. I will weigh the stock tires when they come off. Photobombed by two cats, lol.

32" MRT XROX on MSA M31's. Came in at 59lbs on the scale. Waiting to get my DS back from FUTV to mount them up.

Looks great. I guess I should have no concerns about running 32's on stock rim on my XRS if your going up to 35's.

 

Moab the last few weeks now. Behind the Rocks, Steel Bender, Area BFE\Green Day and Cliff Hanger. The 35s really woke the ole girl up. Very happy.

Awesome.... I hope to get to Moab soon. I'm going to have the Halo locker put in. Do you have them in your cars Sam? How did they handle in Moab?

 

Halos in both cars. The steering is definitely affected by the halo. I'm used to the XPT steering so I have had to learn to disengage the Halo as soon as the obstacle is cleared. 5-2 offset on the 35" car. 4-3 offset on the 33" car. The offset does make a difference. As far as the tires. The CSTs are a soft compound, and I mean soft. They will not give many miles, but they work very well in Moab. They STICK. The LONG trailing arms on the car are what hang it up quite a bit on ledges and stuff, and that is where the 35s help a lot. Just that inch or so seems to benefit it a fair amount over the 33" car. The car is now on par with our 33" shod HCR XPT as far as crawling, which works extremely well.

The only thing that is sub par is the steering with halo engaged, which has been addressed in earlier threads. But, like I wrote above I have learned to deal with it.

Might be going Saturday. The following 2 weekends I usually refrain from any of the tougher trails in Moab due to the Jeep Safari. Let the Buggies have the run of it.

Heya Sam,
Interesting the Halo changes the steering, I have not read anyone say that yet. I don't do a lot of rock crawling but I like the upgraded option of being able to hit a button to get that true 4WD when the time comes.. Every thread I have read on the Halo people are happy with it, I haven't found any negative comments until I read yours on the steering change. Considering the Halo will only be active for short periods seems like a fair trade off....nothing is perfect. However it makes me wonder why the RZR's are said to be such great rock crawlers from the factory (so the RZR guys say) and I'm wondering if they deal with steering issues all the time in 4WD? I couldn't be happier with my X3 XRS and it has crawled perfectly on everything I have thrown at it yet it my short time it but why not add the upgrade since I can afford it. Life is good and upgrades make it better :cool2:

 

It has nothing to do with the Halo. Or rather, because it works, you won't be able to steer with it. It's the side effect of having a fully locked 4wd. If you read what he wrote again, he said he is used to turn it off ASAP on his XPT (RZR). So, it is not something the RZR does better. It's just that you learn there isn't any other way on a locked 4WD and you don't complain about it. Lol.

Leaving the 4wd engaged all the time on a ViscoLock spoils you, but it ain't a locked 4wd either. :serious:

What's everybody's thought on 32x14 maxxis liberty tires. I'm just gonna be high desert and woods cruising around

I love mine. They wear great, handle awesome and do well in the rocks and hardpack. I have no regrets on them.

The liberties are magical, you don't know that unicorns are carrying you around cause you cant see under the tire. I just wish I would have been paying attention when I read the sizes available. I bought 32x10R15 ultracross's but would have stuck with Liberties. I will most likely have to have a second set.

 

New liberties...

Running 14 psi, sliced the side wall. Had to buy a new tire.

2 months later had to plug a different tire drifting in lose gravel. @20 psi.

... not sure these are the best choice.

Most in our group run Tensor or ITP.

Thoughts on ITPs?

32 inch Pro Armors on a 15 inch Fuel Vector Beadlock with 5+2 offset.

 

Looks good. Your car looks like it still has factory "low rider" shock settings. Have you read some of the suspension threads about adding preload and raising the ride height? You'll get a much better ride.

 

See the pic of my DS above on same tires. Thats about the height you want to be.

 

Yeah, I have not got into the suspension settings. I have no idea what I am doing. I have a friend that races these things and he is going to come by and help me tune the shocks.

What tire pressure you guys running in your 32's?

 

Im running 10 psi in my 10 ply 32" Mongrels.
After a short while of hard driving in the Mojave Desert terrain they'll heat up and the psi will climb to 13psi and stay at that pressure.
Gives me a good ride with great traction without any signs of tire roll in turns.

Nice pics! I'm gonna go with the 32x10x15. The tires are proving themselves tough racing. Plus they are relatively light for their size. Similar to a BFG km2 tread pattern. Love em.

JV looks awesome in spring btw.
