Has anyone started a thread on running bigger tires for the X3? What fits? What works? What needs to be done? Clutch job? Lift? I couldn't get the search function to work. I'd like to run bigger tires on a DS.

Looking for good tires for my X3 XDS. I will prefer made in the US. Right now I have the Tusk Terrabite 30x10x14. After around 1500 miles they start losing air pressure. One is losing air by the rubber 1/8 inch above the beadlock, we had the put a tube in it. When I remove the beadlock I saw Made in China. I am not happy, 5 tires good for the dump.

X3 XRS - 2 seat - stock brakes

33x10x15 GBC Terramaster. 10 ply. 41.1 lbs. diameter measures close to 32" at 18 psi
1,200 miles central & east AZ+ Johnson valley with a nail in 1 of them and still going. I think they will go 1,400 miles. B-side out (hard terrain) in sand will push in the corner. Car brakes ok. Good on graded. Great on rocks. Tough tire.

35 x 9.5 x15- System 3 - RT320 - 8 ply- 43 lbs - has anyone tested it?
Contact patch suffers at a 9.5"? Steel belt or what is it?

Weight to tire diameter is attractive. 43 lbs at 35". Should roll over square edge better.
My only fear is the added wear on bearings, brakes, joints, and effect on shock rebound.

Both run about $200 /tire.

Experience anyone?

Just did my first ride on a new set of 33” System3 R320s. I am pretty impressed with them so far. The extra ground clearance is killer. Im right at 17” now on my DS. You can see how tall they are vs my old 32”(31” measured) MRTs. The R320s are a true to size tire and measure every bit of 33”

just got some 29" km3s for my beast and was curious to see how everyone has fared with balancing the beadlock wheels. i got them as close to centered on the wheel as i could but wasnt sure how exact i needed to be. it almost looked like there was a little taper on the bead of the km3 so hopefully that helped line it up as i was snugging and torqueing the rings down.

thoughts on taking them in to try to have someone balance them? im paranoid after i got the tyre guider chinese junk and they shook terrible... even with beads in them to try to help out.

will do, thanks!

I am hoping to take them for a run one night this week and see how they do. now that i have the beads seated, it might be a little easier to get them centered? is it worth while to loosen the rings and set them again now that i have them seated on the back?

Got the km3s put on tonight and went for a ride. Smooth as the road so that was great. Didn't even have to take the rings back off and mess with them so I'm very happy!

Much better than the tyre guiders!

Thanks for the help and info.
