Hello. We’ll blew my first belt on my ‘16 xc that I bought used. Was going flat out down a road and hit 113km lol. Just wondering what the best belt to get is and what’s the best thing to do to keep the clutches cool. I’ve heard some guys wrap the exhaust. Does it help to snorkel it?

Welcome from Tucson AZ. We'll, a couple of things. Even though it's used, did you change the belt when you bought it? Belts are cheap compared to clutches, transmissions, etc. If you did change it, how many miles did you have on the belt?

I think members state that the 16s were belt eaters, but I'm not 100% sure. Best to do a search. Best belt is OEM, IMO. Best place to get them is Rocky Mountain ATV. Helps to also use compressed air to blow your primary and secondary out after each weekend. Clutch dust is very abrasive.

Ok ya makes sense. No idea how many miles on the belt. It does have the extra venting.

the reason they were know as bet eaters is because the clutch is junk
why? because was designed for 50hp atvs...so....
the clutch only drives off one side of the clutch/belt...wtf
yes, dumb design, upgrade to the turbo clutch witch is close to the x3 clutch
it drives off both sides of the belt = twice the grip
enough to work on 300hp x3s
far less slip and a longer lasting belt

Ya for sure. I just found the lock up mod on here. Sounds pretty legit. Any thoughts?
