Curious how many Mavericks will brave the King of the Hammers race. Who's going? Lets see pics of your race rigs

That car is too beautiful to run the KOH. I hope they dominate but it will be sad to see it get all banged up.

Jason & Derek Murray of Murray racing will be there in the new 2014 maverick
One of the brothers, I think Jason, might have lost a finger during the race. I guess it got caught in the winch.

I live less then an hour from the Hammers. I've ran them a few times in my Jeep but I just don't want to destroy my Maverick in that race.

Yeah it was jason. They were out early. Winching injuries are generally pretty bad.
this is from Jasons Mom on facebook "Reaching out for prayers, my son's with Murray Racing Jason Derek were racing in the King of the Hammers event today (look it up and see how insanely dangerous it is ) Jason is having surgery right now. His right hand was crushed and not sure of the out come yet. One finger for sure may not be saved. It may be up to an 8 hour surgery."

They are some of the nicest and classiest guys racing.. They will get past this and still be a dominating force in UTV racing.

Yes Jason injured his finger in the winch today and was airlifted to an area hospital then transported by ambulance to another hospital with a hand specialist, he is currently in surgery to see if they can save the finger but it is pretty bad, the finger is broke in 3 places. will update later on status

Sorry to hear. Crazy zhit happens during competition, and the KOH terrain us much more extreme than the photos can ever show. Best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery. Eisenhower and Loma Linda have some amazing surgeons. Hand injuries may seem trivial, but they can hurt like hell for years.

Man that sucks, I hope the surgeons will be able to get him all fixed up so he will have full function of his hand again.

It sucks to hear of anyone getting hurt. I know all about a mangled hand. I had several surgeries on mine after a crushing injury. It doesn't look right, but it works. I hope he has a full and quick recovery!

I stand corrected, they sewed it back on and they're doing everything they can to get it to take

We were there and saw him get loaded on the Mercy Air flight. I hope all is well. Any updates would be appreciated.
