My brother in law and I took our mavericks to the dunes over thanksgiving. Mine a 2013 XRS, 25" paddles his a 2015 XDS on 29" paddles. We both decided at the end of the day, regardless of his being a turbo, that...
29" paddles look better.
25" paddles perform better.
... and obviously both perform way better than stock.
Far from scientific but something to consider for anybody getting ready to buy paddles.

Have you checked the Wheel & Tire section below? There are a lot of pages/posts about this. Basically, there are many variables on paddles (weight, roll out, paddle count, molded, buffed, etc...) to take in to account when choosing the "best" tire.

I'm not trying to wade into that hole mess. We took two different mavs and we were able to play with two different tire setups and was sharing our experience.

MIght help to at least give the model, number of paddles etc. Then people would know if you compared skats to skats or??
