So what do we have to do in order to bump up the hp to 100?

I really don't have a set budget for the upgrade. I just want to bump up the summer fun factor - horsepower and torque while maintaining most of the machine's reliability. The portals caught my interest, but I don't really like that kind of riding anymore. I upgraded to 27" Maxxis Bighorns 2.0 and would rather take the portal money and upgrade my performance. I am new to Can Am and don't know enough about them to even begin upgrading beyond accessories. The size of the 50" trail fits my needs more so than the 60" 1000R. I just figured there would be a way to remove the detuning from the 75 hp trail. My goal is to bump up the horse power matching that of the 60" 1000R without wasting money. Thank you for the replies.

As that old saying goes; "there ain't no free lunch"...

IMO, the detuned 75hp Rotax has plenty enough power for intended utilization primarily as a 50" trail machine. Doing aftermarket performance mods is likely to reduce fuel "economy" as well as range per full tank if that's a factor. While I don't know for certain, my suspicion is that even the stock MavS 1000R pays an MPG price with its add'l 25hp. I briefly considered buying the Can-Am by Yoshi exhaust for my MavT but decided doing that would result in need for a programming chip plus a lot more noise. The Rotax is noisy enough for me already.

Short answer: It's more than a tune between the Trail 1000 and the Sport 1000R. According the Mr. RPM the 1000R engine has different heads, cams and compression.

Long answer:

My performance mods and seat of the pants results. 1st changed the clutches to STM primary and secondary. OMG believe the hype! Shocked how much more usable power is going to the ground, better response etc.. Next full HMF exhaust and Dynojet tuner. This combo really woke up the engine. This might be enough for you. The drivetrain performance was outperforming the shocks. If that's not enough (it's not for me) Next I installed Elka Stage 5 shocks. Now the shocks outperform the powertrain. My next step will be dropping off the machine at MR. RPM for big bore kit, heads, intake and cams. They'll tune the engine and clutches as well. That's probably the end of my performance mods. If that's still not enough for you, there are a couple of guys on the Trail/Sport Facebook group running nitros and building turbos.

Thanks nbr013 for the reply. Two major areas - if the clutches are finessed and a good tune flashed to get rid of all the throttle latency this will transition into a good bike. MrRPM and others with Can-am performance experience is exactly the contacts I need. I can wrench on my own quad, but as with any bike you have to know all the details as to why things are the way they are. Are the primary clutches travel limited by a spacer? I don't want to start tearing things apart on a discovery mission if someone already knows the answer.
