I have a 2015 maverick xds 1000r turbo dps. Jerks violently at slow speeds (up to 10 mph) after that it’s smooth sailing. Since I’m replacing the starter I have to pull the clutches to get to it. I know there is a special bolt to push the primary off, is the secondary the same way to remove it? It secondary bolt sits inside the clutch unlike the primary. Also do you think the jerking at low speeds is from a bad belt? It’s slightly glazed over on the one side but one side of the primary is complete rust, previous owner must of blown a belt and just rode out the broken belt cover. I will attach pictures for reference.

bad belt. Cleanup faces of clutches with red scotchbrite, blow the dust out and replace the belt and try again. OEM belts only

Why oem only? The new one I bought is a Gates belt
why? because I said so

Search around and most issues you will find are caused by an aftermarket belt. OEM belts are soft and bite into your clutches better, they don't wear grooves in your clutches and are consistent in their quality.
