New to the forum so I apologize if this has been asked before….

I have a 2014 Can Am Maverick 1000r. I was riding one day and it was fine. Parked it, came out a few days later and it turned over/cranked, but never started. I’ve put a new battery, plugs, and coil pack in it. Now I’m getting a “Dess key not recognized” when I try both my performance and work keys. Where do I go from here? Thanks

Welcome from Tucson AZ. Seems like there should be more to your story. Not recognizing the keys makes me think you might have fried the ECU? Did you submerge it? It might be dealer time.

Our 16 did a similar thing a couple times except it wouldn't crank. Aggressively Jiggling the key and stabbing it in and out of the ignition a few times did the trick in those instances.

I sprayed inside the ignition switch where the key goes in with New Film and it hasn't done it since. I realize this isn't technical help and doesn't address the "why" but it's something easy to try.
