too small of a truck you will overload it and possibly kill a busload of nuns headed to Tims house for his annual bathing.

welcome to the forum. imo time to upgrade the truck as well, it will be very hard to find a bumper pull that will fit your new monster and still be light enough to pull with a 1500 series truck.

good luck with your search, just because it is rated for it doesnt mean it can do it safely in all conditions.

What he said. Truth. I see it all the time when people think their half ton can tow at max. Bad things happen.

It depends on your definition of a toy hauler. My Nissan Titan pulls a basic enclosed car hauler with X3 and three dirt bikes with no problems whatsoever.

Or just get yourself this set up

Agreed. Unless you can find an atc or comparable lightweight aluminum hauler, most will overload your 1500’s payload capacity before the 10,000 tow limit is reached.

What does your payload sticker say on driver side door jam? I had a 2013 ram 1500 at one time and my payload was a minuscule 1061lbs. Any toyhauler tongue weight would of been over that amount before accounting for me and any passengers

remember the problem with smaller trucks isn't pulling its stopping, especially in an emergency, and controlling it in high winds.
