Shock tower light brackets on a budget!

Ok so I’m no fabricator and it may show, but I picked up some aluminum plate (little less then 1/4”). $25 got me a sheet about 15” wide and 3-4’ long. Was able to make a template for a shock tower bracket and using a wood bandsaw with a cheap HF blade cut the bracket out.

I forgot to get pics of prior to mounting but in the photo you can see the template I used. It’s not 100% symmetrical, but mounted with the light you’d hardly notice.

Now I have enough aluminum to make some more goodies!

Also, a lot of people with questions on wiring these things, myself included! After a lot of research and thanks to searching the forum...I found out there is an accessory wiring bar (bus bar?) in the center console on the passenger side. Made it much easier to wire, and the switch lights up only when the ignition is on.

Also, when wiring the harness up I used a 2 lead harness and pre-wired/ran wiring up to the roof for a second light bar to be mounted later. The wire harness didn’t have a long enough run, so I made an extension using some automative 14g wire. Pushed red and black wire through about 5 feet of heat shrink then blasted it with the heat gun. Ended up looking pretty professional, but now I hope the 14g wire is enough for a single row 40” led light bar.

I just capped off each wire and put a ball of electrical tape around it and a zip tie, so it’s ready to go when the new light is figured out.

Also don’t mind the messy garage...I’d make excuses but they’d be bs...

I'm under the impression the only reason to flip is to clear the front gusset kit, no?

What kind of paint do you guys use and where/what color to get? I thought about that when I saw some scuffs here and there (probably from dealer assembly or something).

Also, never thought about flipping my shocks...It does look cool and I like looking cool, but do you have to take the shocks off and swap them left to right? cause i'm also lazy, and choosing looking cool over being lazy........

I would have got a RZR, but I want to spend my time modding, not repairing... . haha.
