Broken belt - 2018 Can Am Maverick Max

    Hi,

I just blew two belts in under 1 hour. To be honest, I bought 2 China belts which claimed they were OEM BRP belts. Obvi they were not. I did do a ECU Flash via Vivid and put on a cat back exhaust. I've read about tuning the clutch to match the tune? What about checking to see if the clutch is aligned or whatever? How can I check this? BTW - I blew a hole in my clutch cover and made my own inner lining like Alba sells and it fits and works perfect. I think it was like $8 in metal.

Go with Evo or Gboost belts, as for clutch alignment grab yourself an online shop manual and it tells you how to check it. Clutch kits are a benefit as well. Dynojet, Aftermarket Assassins, And KWI are all good options.

Here is a link for GBoost Belts. GBoost makes both the EVO and Trinity belts. Bad Ass belt is great and the Sand Storm is a step up for the Bad Ass belt.

For the clutching turning part...no the can-am clutching doesn’t really allow you to shim for alignment like in the RZR clutching. If you are having alignment issues you need to machine the secondary or go with a full float mod. I recommend the full float because then the secondary is always aligned because it will align itself. We have options to properly clutch your X3 for your tune and offer a full float if you need that route too.

PM me and I can help you with a forums discount and help select the proper clutching for you.

I have two 3" fans on my 17 XRS max. Set up with a temp sender and temp gauge. Fans kick in at 160 F. Put one on a intake and one on a exhaust. Works great.
