    License plate light - wiring

Hey all, did you tap into your tail light wiring directly or use an adapter? I used to do car audio so I am comfortable with tapping wiring, just don't want to give any reason to void my warranty. I considered making a piggyback harness for the plugs on the wall of the cab in front of the rear tires, just don't know what the name of the plug is. I bought a license plate light that has red when brakes are triggered, so I thought tapping that harness would be best. Protips?

I tapped into wiring directly. Don’t know if that’s right or wrong, but it works.

I have the license plate holders in stock. Tapping into the stock wiring is how its done with the kits we sell.

I used this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DXKC28L/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_aFPPCbH3HPMEJ Seems to work ok though the diagram supplied doesn't match the actual wire colors

I used that also for my rear reflector KC Hilites. Worked great. I did have to extend the wiring but not a big deal.
