    Battery Issues- 2015 Maverick XMR

On my XMR I run a Rugged Radios 686 intercom with a bluetooth adapter and RM-60 radio. I also have a SPOD hooked up, but i rarely ever use anything that is hooked to it. When I ride basically the only add-on accessory running is the intercom. I have only used the intercom and radio twice this summer together otherwise when I ride, just the intercom is on. Anyways, my issue is I go through at least one battery every summer. I always have to keep a battery tender plugged in or it will go dead over a period of a week with no use. Has anyone else experience battery issues while running and intercom or any other accessories and if so, did you find any solutions? Or what have you tried and did it work?

I am not sure why you think the radio and intercom are the culprit.

If everything is off then no power should be drawn from the battery. The fact you use them while the car is running should have no ill effects on battery voltage or the battery going bad later.

A battery can lose up to 1 percent per day, so a week or two it should still be fine, something is wrong.

You need to find out what is drawing power while the car is off.

You can hook a meter up between the positive cable and positive terminal and pull fuses one by one etc. You can google to give you a better vision of how that is done.

You didn't by any chance listen to Chief on here about how to wire a switch did you?

His method leaves power being pulled even when the car is off. Tim

Sounds like you have a parasitic draw.

Usually an easy find with a test meter.

Now there could also be a relay that's a SPST with an NC that could be drawing that's not attached to a fused circuit.

Thank you for your help. I don't know that it is the radio and intercom at the point. I was just wondering by chance happen to be somebody else with a problem with the radio and intercom. But it's all like there is not. I do figured that was a good place to start. I contacted the guys at rugged radios and they said they could help me troubleshoot some things.
