    Clutch problems

I have a 2014 Can Am Maverick which has an intermittent problem, at a sustained speed of 45mph or greater the clutch completely releases and engine rpms tach out, immediately after letting off throttle and rpm dropping it re-engages and seems to run completely normal, i’m stumped and so is the local repair shop, any ideas?

Maybe time to trade both in (sorry couldn't resist)
thats a funny thing to happen to yr clutch ? If its a temp thing once it heats up after a hard pull if the spring looses tension so the clutch looses its grip, (just thinking out loud ) might need heavier weights and a good cleaning going over everything ,sliders bushings etc.

The clutches need serviced occasionally. You may have rollers broke in the secondary weights sticking in the primary. When was the last time you changed a belt and cleaned things up?

I haven’t changed the belt or even cracked the cover yet, just got it a few months ago.

Well, it is 5 years old ,? The condition of everything , glazed belt maybe probably a good idea to pull the cover and check everything and maybe replaice the belt , if the belt you pull out looks good use it for your spare + it will give you a chance to get used to what it takes to change incase you need to do it on the trail

Maybe the primary is slipping on the shaft? Re-lap the fitting and try a new bolt.
