Well, I DID drive it to Canada last month from Phoenix; and I just got back from driving it to Mount Rushmore/Sturgis - thatís 4,500 miles over the last month or so in just two trips.

Great Western Trail and the Trans-America Trail.

    I like LONG multi-day rides .

I'm not sure if I should be impressed or horrified by your ambition and endurance.

AR is king of the X3 high milers.

I'm guessing you stay on back roads in the hills? That would be fun, but kind of nerve racking at the same time. How much fuel do you carry?

Itís fun and not TOO nerve racking - I usually carry an extra two gallons, which is USUALLY enough.

This last trip I took eight extra gallons, four of which I didnít use - I had planned for two legs to be 175 miles, but I found ways to shorten those up.

Itís just TWO trails to Mount Rushmore from Phoenix - the Great Western Trail (GWT) and the Trans-America Trail (TAT) - fairly easy to follow, but detours are needed for snow packs and width restrictions along the northern route.

Probably about 90% dirt; most of the TAT was just rutted dirt and gravel roads.

Youíre welcome to ride with me ANYTIME.

Iím plotting and planning Phoenix to Moab and across Colorado now - weíll see if I can get it together before the first snow; if not, thereís next year, hopefully.

If I can ride it into CT RaceWorx shop in Carolina, Iíll be a happy camper .
